As a Black Latina im not surprised by the way that the Latino vote skewed this election cycle. In America, Latinos and Hispanics are viewed as mostly brown. When in reality there’s a lot more white Latinos - decendents of sl*ve owners - throughout all of LAT-AM. They holdfast to the traditions of old, they uphold the caste systems and biases in government in Latin countries. They are voting by their baseline M.O. Their proximity to whiteness is whiteness.
