I think I see it. The point of flooding the zone with shit is to make sure no one really believes anything anymore. Once the truth is subjective and meaningless, people are free to ignore the evidence of their own eyes and ears, or other people around them saying how dangerous someone is. I have to believe that many (most) of them genuinely don’t believe that he’s going to do a lot of what he claims, or just choose to believe the things they favor and ignore the rest. Doesn’t excuse them.
