I know my story isn't as terrible as others but I feel like some people don't understand how archaic women's healthcare actually is. I was at my one year post birth check up with my son. His father was barely in the picture as it was "too hard" raising a child. I didn't plan on being a single parent with a 1 year old but that's what happened anyways. I was talking to my OBGYN about birth control options and told her that I wanted an IUD. I was 33 and a single parent with a baby. 🧵
