Gerrymandering of counties, unfair state election laws, suppressing blue votes through mail-in ballots and absurdly long voting lines in their districts, restrictions on what’s acceptable for ballots, and making it harder for blue to vote but easier for red. Lots of states in the middle also have sexist, racist views. So Trump had them on his side along with Radical Christians. Deeply rooted hate in mid-south makes it difficult to change.

Kamala wasn't even able to get 10% of the vote in her home state in 2020, and she hasn't done shit since then except awkwardly laughing at things that aren't funny and struggling through interviews where she had the questions ahead of time. Her entire campaign was just "but...orange man?" It's not a mystery that 15m democrats didn't want to vote for that
