I am proud to live in Maryland not only because we elected Angela Alsobrooks, our first Black Woman Senator. But also our governor, the amazing Wes Moore, who is our first Black Governor, signed the Freedom to Read Act earlier this year that puts an end to book bans in our libraries and public schools, AND protects our library workers from retaliation! There is no place for censorship and book bans in Maryland, Illinois, WAshington. I wish it could be like this for the rest of the country.
