I'm a fantasy, mythology, history, anthropologist-who-loves-archaeology nerd. I love Tolkien because of his obvious, deep appreciation for Norse and Anglo-Saxon mythology and literature, because of his ability to write non-toxic men, because of his artistry with language, because of his epic storylines. Catholicism and God does not come into it for me. So if you think I love Tolkien because it's "fantasy for Catholics" then you've misunderstood me. 2/4

幾秒內	Nicole Larkin-York commonthreadfiber	Now don't get it twisted: I don't hold his faith against him, much like I wouldn't criticize anyone else for theirs...unless you just used it as an excuse to vote away my rights (and the rights of basically every marginalized person I know and love). In that case, we got beef. But some of the most radical fighters for the rights of everyone that I've ever met have been the most truly devout people I've ever met. If you're one of them, then I respect the hell out of you. 3/4
