Vermont is a wonderful place, but don’t sugar coat what we are facing: a housing shortage, double digit % increases in property taxes, the second-highest per capita unhoused population, stagnant wages.. There are many reasons why Vermont lost so many Dem seats this year, but increasing financial squeeze and housing competition are hitting particularly hard. But if you want to help solve these problems, not just to find a place to escape, then great.
