Please make sure that you would like to be called Dan by Japanese people. When I first met my husband in Tokyo, he said his name is Daniel. I of course call him Daniel, as it’s his name, even though I found out that many people called him Dan. A few years ago, after being together for 15+ years, he said he doesn’t want me to call him Daniel, as it’s the way his parents used to call him when he was in trouble😇
