I think the notion of a bipartisan pro democracy alliance needs to be rethought. There is not a critical mass of Rs to appeal to outside of some admirable elites. If you want democracy you have to appeal to Democrats and D-leaning independents. To quotes phrase it is time to join the side you are on- Democrats
