People I had been friends with for years messaged me to ask why we weren't connected on social media any longer. I didn't respond. In my head, I thought a response and it was, "Because when I asked for compassion, you took the side of the people who were hurting me instead." I'm not going to beg to be allowed to take up space. If you give me any indication that you're not a safe person for me, then I don't need you to show me who you are again. I saw it and will act accordingly.
