I had my new COVID vaccine done at a CVS in the Florida Panhandle. I had to listen to how “this is not fully tested, so we don’t know what it’ll do to you. That’s why you should wait 15 mins before leaving.” I just pretended the Florida Man Pharmacist never said it and continued my usual cheery banter. I can’t wait to be home again in Vermont.

In addition to traffic control (herding people), one of the jobs was to monitor the people during the 15 minute wait period. The 15 minute wait period was standard and it was to make sure that you didn't have any kind of reaction before leaving and probably driving away. Some people have reactions to needle sticks, so it's not just with what's being injected.
