I am waiting for an elevator and press the button in front of a male colleague and the button lights up. He feels the need to press the same button after just seeing me do it. Is this mansplaining? Elevatorsplaining?

A lack of knowledge about how elevators work. He probably thinks the crosswalk buttons work that way as well.

I think it has to do with 'muscle' memory. If it's a constant, done on a regular basis, we tend to do it on auto-pilot. It had nothing to do with you. Life is short, don't waste your time pondering stuff like this.
