I hate this and like it. Don’t love it but “like” it because I have athletes. Hate it because I don’t think it does the kids any favors. Homework is like practice and the test is like game day. What if you don’t practice? You’re going to fail the test, right? But if you have too much homework, you’re probably not going to practice either.

Love this. I feel like my first grader already has a lot of homework. Most of them do not take him long to finish but it is time away from something else like this note says.

This is basically my homework policy. I ask them to read everyday and to finish anything they didn’t complete in class. The research she references is accurate.
