I picked up the wrong spoon yesterday. The idea of eating with it, of feeling it in my mouth, made me very uncomfortable. I wanted to put it back, but I knew it would look ridiculous. It had also touched my food, and I knew it was wrong to make more dishes to clean….

幾秒內	Ian Ramjohn ianramjohn	Then I remembered I was the one who runs the dishwasher. And it’s better to be weird than uncomfortable. So I put it to wash and got another one. I felt so much better. A tiny thing, but I had won a battle against masking. And next time, I’ll feel less like a fraud if I say I’m autistic.
