Tariffs is supposed to stop businesses from importing goods and materials from certain countries. Instead of companies doing that, they continue to use the same outlets then mark up the prices for us average citizens. Blame corporate greed. They could easily find other supply chains. Companies do not want to admit this. Companies also know that consumers are stupid when it comes to pricing. Places like McDonald's and other companies have taken advantage of the complacency of consumers.
