I was at a gas station yesterday and at the pump next to me was a man with an older truck and trailer with landscaping equipment in it. I asked him if he had a business card. He dug around in the truck and got one for me. I asked, “black-owned business?” He hesitated for a moment before replying “Yes”. I said, “Good. We need to support each other, especially now.” The hesitation before answering, the smile and relief on his face at my response - it made me sad in some type of way.
