My mom texts me Sat. to check in. It's the usual superficial life update stuff, because my mom and I sadly have very little in common anymore but we both try to keep in touch. But I also told her honestly that it's been a rough week because we're all feeling pretty gutted about the election. My mom is one of the sweetest, kindest people I know, an actually good Christian. But she's also very uncritical of religious "leaders" & what they say & thus susceptible to religious right-wing propaganda.
