Hi there! Since everyone is introducing themselves, I will too! My husband and I live in Northern VA with our teenage sons and dogs. We moved here a few years ago from Alabama (Roll Tide!) and are thrilled to finally be in a blue state (even though we are in the edge of the blue part). I’m a former college professor currently working in the environmental consulting field. As a marine ecologist I do a lot of work involving offshore wind and coastal habitats like oyster reefs and seagrass beds.

I took my students from MU to a job fair and a school district from Alaska was there. I applied for a job, was hired, and spent the last 8 years off-grid, teaching in Yupik villages. I enjoyed my time living away from it all-no running water,generator-powered electric, with temperatures often in the -40s. I came to VA to be close to my grown daughter.
