We care about the least of us. It’s expensive but saleries are higher. Small towns are like small towns everywhere. Produce is the best. Even the politically conservative areas are nothing like the entire state of Texas. Dungeness crab is better than blue crab. We will always fight over water.

The best part is California itself. The worst part is paying taxes to support the Red welfare states that hate California.

California is a huge and varied state, we have something for everyone! Born and lived 69 years here. Costal cities are great, but tend to be more expensive to live in, but close to jobs and our beautiful beaches. Currently retired outside of Sacramento and it's a 2.5 hour drive to the coast and even closer to Lake Tahoe and the mountains. I've traveled a lot and wouldn't live anywhere else.

California is just awful. Not sure why you’d ever want to come.

I recently moved back to West Coast after decades in NYC. Loved NY but wanted to come home (west coast) for family. Pros: pretty much everything, including much cheaper rent for much better place. Cons: I’m sure I’ll find some

It takes WAY too long to drive anywhere interesting from the bay area. Crossing the valley through Sac, Stockton, or Fresno to get anywhere cool in the Sierras sucks.

I moved from MA to CA 6 years ago (still spend summers in MA). So I am familiar with both. Best things: diverse people, views- everywhere (ocean, mountains, canyons- you won’t feel the need to travel so much because there is just so much here), entertainment, food. Worst things: traffic, homelessness (though it’s improved a lot). Prices are high near the cities but better in quieter communities.

The worst thing about California is that it is expensive, the best thing is that it is better than everywhere else. But please don’t tell anyone. Traffic is bad enough as it is. (Come join us!)

Moved to SoCal from the east coast about 5.5 years ago & will never move back. Yes it’s move expensive but I think it’s worth it, more diversity, good school system for my kids, can’t beat the weather.
