For anyone considering a move to Illinois, check out the beautiful Fox Valley. Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles, Campton Hills, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora. These are all GREAT places to live, raise kids & retire. Housing can be affordable or it can be splurge-y, if that’s what you want. Campton Hills is the safest town in the state. The other towns are also very safe & friendly. Bonus - no state tax on retirement income. Excellent schools, ditto on health care. Easy train access to the city, too!

While there are Republican voters and always folks trying to take over school boards and county boards, there are plenty of blue folks here too. I definitely dont feel outnumbered.
