TLJ is probably my least favorite SW movie. BUT I do appreciate things Rian tried to do, even if some of them fall flat for me personally. This overall viewpoint is how I look at the Luke depiction specifically. It doesn’t work well for me, but I get why it has meaning & connects for other people. We each came into TLJ with different likes or dislikes of Luke, connected or didn’t connected with things for his character in the OT, & I find different generational viewpoints have a big impact too.
