Buying direct from authors is not going to work for everyone, but if it's an option go for it. My ebooks and comic PDFs are available from my Gumroad and Itchio stores, and I make about 85% revenue off them instead of the roughly 50% I make from every other platform my first two books are available from (note my 3rd book is on Kindle Unlimited so Amazon is the only place you can get it). Unfortunately my paperbacks are only available direct right now for South African residents.
