For the avid fiction book readers knocking out 60+ books a year… I need to know what your schedule is looking like. When? Where? How? How many books have you read and how many hours are you reading a day/week? Where do you typically read?

I read 100 books a year. It’s about 15-25 hours per week. (As I write this, that does sound wild!!!) I walk my dog two hours a day, so that’s a big chunk of time “reading” audiobooks. The rest just fits into little bits of time I’d probably be wasting scrolling.

I don't watch tv anymore and I listen to Audible when driving, cleaning and mowing the yard. Having the Kindle app on my phone makes reading easy anytime.

The most consistent times for me are: - 30 minutes a day during my lunch break - 30 minutes in bed before I fall asleep That’s already over 350 hours a year, which if each book takes like 8-10 hours, is 35-45 books. But then throw in binge reading Saturdays, and honestly lately I hardly watch tv after work, I just read. I also occasionally listen to audiobooks at work or on long drives. Put that together and I’m at 100 books this year.

I work from home with plenty of free time, so that is the ONLY way I surpass 60 books a year! I also stopped watching tv as much, but it varies. One week I might read 4-5 books and the next two weeks I only watch tv. I usually average about 90 books a year.

I will preface ny saying that I’m a crazy fast reader, but in a good week, I try and set aside 1-2 hours a day to read, in the evening. I just don’t watch a lot of tv. I read mostly at home, but I do have the Libby app downloaded on my phone, and if I’m waiting for an appointment/in my car, I make a conscious effort to open that app before opening a social media app.
