Portland, Oregon is a general location and where I live. It is so close to Vancouver, WA. There is no sales tax here and if you live in the suburbs like Beaverton or Milwaukee, cost of living is cheaper! I feel safe here even in the city 🏙️

Are you looking for something in a good price range? I'm very fond of Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. Eugene, OR is a smaller progressive city and has an Amtrak that goes there so you can get to Portland, Seattle and even Vancouver, BC in a few hours. I also like the small town of Astoria, OR on the Columbia river.

I've lived in the little town of Walla Walla for 10 years. Mild weather and quite out here. Housing is expensive.
