It was locked inside a gated common courtyard shared between 3 tenants. One wall of the courtyard was the back door to a dive bar where they took out the garbage. The landlord owned both the bar and the three rental units. He was only in the courtyard maybe once every couple weeks tops. That didn't stop him from believing the bike never moved. It's ridiculous. that is why is illustrates confirmation bias so well. Because w/ THAT little data he had, he was STILL absolutely convinced he was right

Landowners / landlord have the right to get rid of tenant property that is abandoned. States vary in the length of time required or other steps before they do so. The issue here is that the landlord assumed how long it was left there to conclude improperly that it was abandoned, when it obviously wasn’t.
