Alright, photographers of threads I have a question: what are your views on editing photos? I have this internal struggle where I want my photos to be as “natural” as they can be, so I only do minimal editing (contrast, lighting, etc.) But then, I see people’s photos where they edit to give a whole different aesthetic, altering the color, adding in lighting and I’ll admit, it draws me in. I would love to hear photographers thoughts on this! Thank you. 💙

7 小時內	Jason thmdude	I always try to get the best image possible SOOC, but there's a vast world between SOOC and completely fake AI land. I aim to find a place in the middle that looks natural, but tells the story as I intended it. I view it a bit like makeup for my photos. I don't want my photos to be wearing a mask, but they don't have to be au naturel either. Editing allows me to put emphasis where I want it without taking away from the natural beauty that I tried to capture.

I shoot in RAW and mainly do Lightroom editing but I love to get creative at times and see what I can do to make it more artistic. I make note cards out of my photos.

一天內	Jean Fordyce fordycephotos	I edit minimally because that’s my style. The clients that come to me do so based on the work I’ve shown so they pretty much know what to expect. If they want heavily retouched or edited pics they tend to look elsewhere and I’m ok with that.
