I was getting a procedure at a prenatal appt today, and I asked the doctor if it was going to hurt. She said “it won’t hurt the baby,” which I do think is a relatively good metaphor for how society views mothers

i’ve noticed this since i was very little and thus have always been against giving birth, pregnancy, having kids through my own body etc. plenty of medical sexism and misogyny that is going strong and always has been. little to no improvement. no one can convince me otherwise. plus, plenty of kids up for adoption so no need to make any more, i don’t give a fuck about dna tree carrying on

When I was pregnant with my oldest daughter in 2012, I had just recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. The OB put me on insulin and I kept passing out due to low blood sugar. I got the same response, the baby will be fine.

I don’t know man. It’s a pretty safe assumption that’s what you’d be worried about.
