it's an ethical misstep, for sure. I'm not a doctor and dont know every rule for them, but work in psych. I'll reference other clients to one when it's relevant, but avoid any identifying information.- "another client of mine had this issue, this is what worked for them"

that being said, it was probably an honest mistake on the doctors part. however it can be a lot more serious than that if the patient isn't open about their gender or transitioning and the doctor violated their confidentiality
