People do love unique designs and want to own them But, they don’t get that there is a tremendous amount of work involved in creating developing and producing a unique garment or tiny run piece. Their purchaseing experience is chain store $50 and that is what they expect, not $500 for hours of work ethically sourced fabric attention to detail quality fit and finish ( not considering machines tools of trade work space power) .

The same people don’t question paying $500 to service a car. Only a couple of hours or less.

I have tried monetizing a couple of hobbies, and found it changed my relationship with my work. There started to be a voice in my head of my customer - would “they” prefer this or that, and so on. Stole the joy right out of it.
