I’m going to Minneapolis for a work trip in a month and have like 8 hours on a weekday to do something before it all starts. Any ideas or suggestions for what I should do?

Minnehaha Falls, Mall of America (locals will rag on it, but you might enjoy strolling around if you haven't been), Grab a selfie in front of First Avenue Nightclub and the 70 foot tall Prince mural across the street, Mickey's Diner in St. Paul, Walker Art Museum, there are various private walking tours to look into. The mpls skyway tour might be cool.

Minneapolis Institute of Art is free and has a great collection.

Ok, there are awesome recommendations here. But for a truly unique Minneapolis experience I recommend the observation deck in Foshay Tower.

Avoid the mall of America like the plague. It’s the seventh circle of hell. I agree with Minnesota Institute of Art and minnehaha falls! The Russian Museum is wonderful, as is The Walker. I love the Electric Fetus. If you like music at all, you will too.

What part of town will you be in ? If you can try and get out to the mall of America.
