Personally I would never do it, I think it should be fine for anyone to cosplay any character because after all, you like the character for who they are and not their skin type. The only problem is there would likely be plenty of other white people who take issue with it if you did … it’s sad. People should be allowed to have fun

I’m whiter then white so take this with a grain of salt but I’ve cosplayed people who are different skin tones then me(lance and allura from Voltron mainly) and have always been told as long as you don’t try to make yourself look like that ya know- then it’s okay which I’m super pale so a lot of times even white characters are still more tan then me or well sometimes anyway - but maybe the person was just scared of possible backlash? Also haven’t seen the show so my bad idk if that matters -
