it’s a phenomenon. the redeeming quality is the movie itself ,even if it’s a proven “terrible movie” it IS also quantifiably ubiquitous with Christmas and has earned that status for decades it still generates revenue through merchandise. TBS marathons since 1997 may have influenced generations of Fans to view it sans TBS later with their families - even people who don’t like it ,or refused to watch it, still know what it is and can usually recognize the iconic imagery , just my 2¢

I will say I was lowkey shattered after learning that Chevy Chase is a huge a$$hole in real life and totally crapped on Community, saying it “wasn’t funny enough”…still love him in Christmas Vacation tho.
