Why would you give peroxide? Is that vet approved?

You should have taken him to EC immediately after finding out he ate the grapes, a lot of pet owners need to stop thinking you know what’s best or trying to save money bc you end up making it worst.

Yes, for newbies, the second you find out a grape or raisin had been ingested, run don’t walk to the ER. It’s a mandatory overnight IV flush. No raisins or grapes even allowed in our house anymore. It’s to easy to drop one on the floor. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Everyone blaming you for an accident would like to believe they would do better, but the reality is that you are only human and dogs get into things; if anyone here has never had their dog eat something unsafe it is because they've been lucky, not because they're a better pet owner than you are...

Both my Goldens got in the grapes as I was unloading groceries. Both at the vet office 24/7 for a week on IV meds. It was touch and go, lots of tears and prayers, but they made it. Yours will too, don’t lose faith. I had no idea grapes were so bad, I just didn’t know. Say your prayers, send good vibes, don’t lose hope.

My kitten ate 2 raisins from an oatmeal/raisin cookie. They immediately turned to alcohol in his stomach. He completely passed out. I took him to the vet where they told me he was in a coma & would most likely die. They wanted me to put him down at the office. I told them if he was in a coma and would quietly die, I wanted to take him home. 3 hours later, he awoke, very wobbly, hungover, but very much alive. The raisins took effect within 2 hours of him eating them, not 2 days.

I honestly didn't know grapes are bad for dogs. I appreciate the info and hope your pup is all healed.
