I recently had shingles-I was a pre vaccine chicken pox kid-and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life!! Be damn sure I’ll be vaxxing to prevent another go round of that!!

Vaccine is SO much better! I was purposely exposed to the chicken pox so I’d have it young & hopefully recover faster. I had shingles at age 35 around the right side of my rib cage. Moving hurt like hell!

I had chicken post when I was 3. Got shingles at 47 - in my EYE and on my scalp. Was in danger of losing my eyesight. You bet I’ve had my shingles vaccine

I had chicken pox 3 times and shingles once by 15, so now as a 25 year old i avoid infected kids and any of my children will be vaccinated asap against it, i dont know why anyone would expose their kids to the possibility of shingles, its hell on earth and theres pox parties in 2024, REALLY?!

Same, we don't routinely vaccinate against chicken pox in the UK so I paid and got my kid done privately because I'm fucked if I'm letting him go through this.

Same, but my chicken pox infection was when I was an infant. I’ve been getting a shingles outbreak about once a year since the age of two. I absolutely vaccinated my kids. And I’m so frustrated that I can’t even try getting the shingles vaccine.

I spent five weeks in the hospital having my lung removed. I’ve also had shingles. Shingles was worse. I wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy.

SAAAAAAAAME I caught it just a few months before the varicella vaccine was being distributed. The outbreak started in town and my Pharmacist mom was calling all the drug reps to see if she could get us the vaccine, and then I caught it and gave it to my baby sister.

Heck, even without shingles, a little kid getting a scarring rash on their genitals? Inside their mouth? Awful.
