Seeing as there’s loads of Americans on Threads, can any of them tell me why the switch in pronunciation of the word ROUTE over the last few years to ROWT? It grates on my ears! In England we say ROUTE the same way we say ROOT. One of your greatest songs is ROUTE 66, pronounced the English way! Btw, I don’t remember hearing this modern version, ROWT, in any old films etc’, so where’s it crept in from…🧐
