So sci-fi…isn’t it supposed to maybe be creating worlds that are more advanced in technology than say our contemporary world? So why are the security screens in The Mandalorian in black-and-white? 👀😆

More technology advanced does not automatically mean more modern looking. It makes sense in the fact that some cultures see the value more in the function and not on the flairs and colors you will see to perform said function. Also, some sci-fi movies make "modernity" too obnoxious, it feels nice to appreciate the less flashy elements and ambience.
