Very unpopular opinion to me. I don’t care how good your portfolio is if you have never shot a wedding you shouldn’t be offering wedding services. Shooting weddings is a skill set all of its own and you have to LEARN it. Second shooting is the best and only way to learn it without putting a bride and groom at risk.

A lot of leads want experienced second shooters. If you have a hard time getting your foot into the wedding world, asking a friend having a small wedding if you can document it- is one of the best ways to get experience.
