As a single woman who made my own way, I always felt that being single working woman was a fabulous alternative to being in a marriage like some of my friends. Few of my friends are married now. And the imbalance of work, total responsibility for childcare and managing the house, and the sacrificed opportunities was heartbreaking to watch through the years.
