I have been in therapy for paat 4 years now. I am so glad that I got into one. But now, I feel like my therapy sessions are more about validation and not reflection. Should I change my therapist? Should I stop therapy? Should I opt for a healer instead of a medical professional? Any suggestions? Mentalhealth

As much as mental health is overwhelming, one can’t depend on it for a lifetime especially when the sessions feel more like validation than reflection. Hence, I’d suggest taking a break and implementing the insights yourself. The day it feels difficult, you can always go back maybe with a better perspective. This really helped me because ultimately, if your struggle is with validation or self-assurance, there has to be one point where you start doing that yourself. Hope this helps 💛

It sounds like you’ve made significant progress, and it’s normal for therapy to evolve. If you’re seeking deeper reflection, consider discussing this shift with your therapist—they may help guide you in a new direction. If you feel called to explore healing in other forms, it’s okay to try a different approach. Trust your intuition. I AM A LIFE COACH AND HEALING FACILITATOR in case if you are keen on changing your approach 🤗

I’m a trauma coach and I find that therapy only goes so far. You need someone to help you move the healing to your body level not intellectualize all the time.

It's time for application! Use insights that you gained and skills that you learnt from therapy to seek answers and solution. If you want, I can help you understand application part. Disclaimer: I am not promoting my services. Just trying to help.

Hi Ankita. Perhaps you should share this view of yours with your current therapist and see what response you get. That's one option. The second option is for you to make an objective assessment. Is the trauma that you originally wished to address in therapy addressed or not. Have you found the root cause, have you found closure, and have you been able to mend the manifesting behavior patterns that emerged from that trauma. If you find yes to be the answer, perhaps it's time to stop therapy

If you have addressed everything that you had to and are content with life in general, your therapist should actually ask you to stop coming after phasing out the appointments. My therapist told me I did not need any more therapy after a whole year and she said she is always gonna be there if I needed her, but she hopes I don't ever need her again!
