I walk my dog in the morning. I try to move around a lot at work. I walk my dog after work. I usually workout around 7p. I get around 12k steps on weekdays and 20k on weekends. I workout for an hour most days but sometimes take rest days. You don’t need a dog to take a walk twice a day. If you work from a chair, you need it.

When I was working as an ER RN I got 10k-12k steps a day without thinking about it (working 12hr shifts). I wasn’t working out on work days, but some coworkers did. Now that I have a desk job, even on days I walk my dog it’s maximum 8k. Having a physical job makes all the difference. I’ve also had to get a lot tighter with diet since leaving the physical job. Daily movement is so necessary to avoid weight gain even it it’s not in a gym 😫

I get about 15-20k just from work. They don't count because I can starve myself and still gain weight unless I'm in the gym too.
