Unpopular but true. Everyone does it because authors haven't woken up one day and started suing everyone... Yet. It is a dangerous practice, japanese artists sell fanart merch and doujin but they only charge for material price, that's why it's so cheap. It's just like self promo material. But I've seen artists selling fanart zines at high prices to get profit from it. Dangerous.
