I think I'm officially done with seeing the 72 Dolphins toasting every year when the last unbeaten team loses. Yes, yes, you went undefeated in a 14-game season with one of the easiest schedules ever in a time when the game was completely different than it is today. Cool. It's like if whoever the last 30-game winner in baseball toasted every year when someone else didn't get there.

Another team finishing undefeated doesn't lessen the achievement of the 72 Dolphins, but being bitter old men about it now is a bad look. They're not even one of the top 10 - maybe even top 20 - NFL teams of all time. And perhaps not even the best Dolphins team ever. I still say the 84 and 85 teams were probably better even though they didn't win it all.
