I am chagrined to see that so many people don't seem to understand that everything is political--it always has been. Your mere existence is political. To think the personal or the global can be separated from the political is to have (or have had) the privilege of protection from the politics in place, the freedom to "not have to think about all that." Whether or not a streetlight gets placed at one corner or not, whether a crossing guard is dispatched at a certain school. . .
