All this talk about Stephan King makes me feel left out. I’ve literally never read anything by him because I don’t like scary stories, but surely there’s at least *one* that I could read that would allow me to experience his greatness without depriving myself of sleep for the rest of the year… Fairy Tale has caught my eye a few different times, but I just don’t know 🙈 Anyone have a non-scary King rec?

一小時內	snark_attacks	Fairy Tale was great. It touched me a lot because I was reading it while my 15-year-old dog was nearing the end, so that may account for the oversize impact it’s had on me. And as others have said, 11/22/63 is just fantastic. Most of his books have a slight element of horror, but far fewer of them are outright horror stories than you’d think.
一小時內	Coco Lopez cocolopezla	There’s lots of not scary King! Shawshank redemption. 11/22/63. And definitely yes to the short story collections too. The Dark Tower books are amazing, but pretty dark.
6 小時內	Jordan Isaac Smith jismith1992	The Gunslinger! The entirety of The Dark Tower saga, really. It's got scary parts, but overall it isn't scary. It's his fantasy/sci-fi magnum opus.

It think that middle part was from a to much information kind of thing? But, it wasn’t scary. Other King books are frightening but I love a good scare.
