What you need is HSA, you contribute and so does your employer and the funds actually roll over. I believe FSA, you lose if you don’t use all of it.

Mine only offers FSA. We can carry over up to 500 at the end of the year and that has to be used up by like march...I think. Anything over that 500 is gone at the end of the year. I usually go on a little shopping spree at the end of the year: first aid stuff, OTC meds, any medical tech I've been looking at

Why do people keep suggesting an HSA? HSA is not an option with every employer or plan.
