Most servers don’t have a choice either way. YOU do.

Simple. You have to work for a living and there are a lot of reasons someone is a server. However going to a restaurant is not a necessity, it is a luxury. Servers DO blame the employer, but as I said, they need to work. That's not a choice. People who go out by choice and choose not to tip despite knowing the way servers are paid are resented because of the callousness they show. If someone doesn't believe in tipping they should not go to establishments where it is part of the wage structure

They do and they forget how many cheap assholes are out there.

Hey hey, it's because of the power structures at place. You know that the owner has more power than the employee. The owner can hire any other person who needs a job, someone is always willing to settle for less because they have to survive. The employee has to feed and house themselves, switching jobs is a luxury not everyone can afford, especially servers. They don't blame the customers for the system, they blame them for participating in a system and taking advantage of the situation.

Everyone here is assuming that servers make low wages. The only servers that make low wages are bad servers. $200 a day minimum in tips if you work 8 hours which usually it’s around 6 means $25 an hour or more just in tips. I loved being a server. Made great money

I guess it’s safe to say you don’t tip … hopefully you treat your cute pup better than people you expect to serve you
