Politely I think you are missing the point. It's not about it being an EV. It's about it being a Tesla. All four doors in a Tesla are by default opened by pressing an electronic door button. If there is a catastrophic failure the power buttons will cease to function. In the front seat there is a secondary manual release, which many drivers/passengers may be unaware of or may forget about in an emergency/high stress situation. In the rear seat there is no visible manual release.
