It is sad, and I'm not saying I think this personally, but it happens far too often. In our culture in Western society, we don't care about our elderly. They're a burden. And when they need extra care or nursing homes they're draining our inheritance. People live too long now. 50 years ago when the pension ages were set you weren't expected to live beyond 70. Now people who retired at 60 are still alive 30 years later and it's draining resources. The government needed you dead 20 years ago!
