Just got an email from a parent saying their kid had worked really hard on an assignment, but had received a low grade. “please explain” was how the email ended. I responded that the student had done 1/4 of the assignment incorrectly and if they wanted to know why; maybe their high school kid in an AP class could EXPLAIN.

As a teacher, I am always willing to explain and work together because presumably we both want what's best for their child, but just demanding things and attacking a teacher out of nowhere... Really not done!
