Violence is violence, no matter who is an abuser and I am sorry you experienced this. But nasty comments you are getting are again showing that the problem is patriarchy. The fact itself women are let go in situations like yours is an effect of certain imprint of masculinity (always enjoy sex never says no, etc). Patriarchy hurts everybody.
